Community Festival May 2015 – Grand Reopening of H St Clinic

H Street Clinic, Lutheran Social Services of So CA, CCLM, & Central Neighborhood Health Foundation celebrated a Grand reopening of the H St Clinic as a Federally Qualified Health Center on May 16, 2015 at 1329 N. H St, SB (909) 381-0803. As the Clinic expands its offerings of health care, CCLM continues to provide emergency and permanent supportive housing, food and nutritional support, education, and spiritual care.

A Homey Homie Christmas

Who receives the gift?  Volunteers help men pick out pants, shirts, belts, socks, underwear, scarves, knit hats, gloves, jackets, and shoes, while volunteers play carols and serve snacks.  Working the Christmas party for the men's shelter sets the tone for welcoming the Christ child.   A gift for all.

CA New Chaptered Homeless Laws

Three new laws affecting the homeless (effective at different dates) were chaptered into law in California at the end of September 2014. AB 1733 (Quirk-Silva) – Public Records: Fee Waiver 1) Require the DMV to issue, without a fee, an identification card (an original or replacement card)  to an applicant who certifies that he or she is a homeless person or homeless youth. 2) Requires the county registrar or recorder to issue, without a fee, a birth certificate to an applicant who certifies that he or she is a homeless person or homeless youth.
